Amourie Downing
I firmly believe in the significant impact of the narratives we create for ourselves and those we hear from others. My goal is to partner with individuals, couples, and families to externalize issues rather than internalize them. By deconstructing these narratives, I aim to assist individuals in broadening their self-perception and shifting toward a more positive storyline.
MY PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH
I embrace a holistic approach, integrating an understanding of attachment styles from a trauma informed lens to tailor our work together. Recognizing that the fear of seeking therapy can be daunting, I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where you feel safe to explore your emotions and experiences. My goal is to empower you on your personal journey towards healing by working with you to identify practical tools that enhance self- awareness and resilience. Through our collaborative efforts, we will uncover and address the root causes of emotional distress, fostering a deeper understanding of oneself and one’s relationships. By nurturing a supportive therapeutic relationship, I aim to instill hope for your personal and relational growth. Together, we will navigate the complexities of personal growth, identifying tools that can help you face life’s challenges with confidence and grace. I am committed to walking alongside you every step of the way, encouraging a journey of honesty and vulnerability to build trust together.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
I earned a Masters Degree at George Fox University in 2025, in the counseling program with a focus on clinical
mental health counseling. I earned my bachelors degree in the Family and Human Services program from
University of Oregon in 2008.
