Professional Counselor Graduate Student Intern — Serving Adults, Couples & Children

Meet

Jane Chung

I’m honored to be joining Living Wholehearted as I begin my practicum under the supervision of Dr. Michelle. As a therapist-in-training, I am passionate about walking alongside individuals and couples as they navigate the complexities of identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. My background in education and my lived experience have deepened my sensitivity to the challenges that arise when balancing cultural expectations, faith, and family dynamics. My approach is rooted in the belief that every individual and couple holds the capacity for meaningful connection, healing, and growth. I view the relationship itself as the client—something to be nurtured, explored, and strengthened through compassionate, collaborative work.

MY PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH

In my work, I integrate a systems perspective, which means I look at how patterns of interaction, past experiences, and communication styles impact the relationship. I am also influenced by emotionally focused therapy (EFT), attachment theory, and faith-based principles for those who desire a spiritual lens in their therapy journey. My mission is to support individuals and couples in cultivating healthier, more connected relationships. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether you're navigating conflict, life transitions, or emotional distance, I am here to walk alongside you—helping you slow down reactive patterns, rebuild trust, and foster deeper intimacy and authenticity. It is an honor to be part of your journey toward healing and wholehearted living.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

CONTINUING EDUCATION & SUPERVISION

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Liberty University, with the goal of becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). My academic training includes coursework in group counseling, family systems, addiction and recovery, marriage therapy, treatment planning, and multicultural counseling. Additionally, I am fluent in reading, writing and speaking Korean and am happy to work alongside bilingual individuals and couples. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. I bring over 15 years of experience in education, having worked extensively with children and families in both classroom settings and church-based ministries. It has been a true privilege to walk alongside individuals and couples during some of their most challenging moments. I look forward to the opportunity to support you in your journey toward healing, growth, and connection.
